Domaso, located on the shores of Lake Como, offers a variety of natural environments perfect for mushroom picking among woods and small valleys. It will be enough to enter the forests of the small Italian village to start the harvest. Near Domaso instead there is Valtellina, another hotspot for mushroom picking thanks to its ideal climatic conditions.
The FORTE FUENTES is a 17th century Spanish fort built at the request by the Governor of the State of Milan, Pedro Enriquez de Acevedo Count of Fuentes, to prevent any possibility of expansion by the Republic of the Three Gray Leagues (modern Swiss Grisons) who wanted expand its domain from Valtellina and Valchiavenna to the Upper Lake Como. Today, it is one of the most important historical sites in the Alto Lario.
