26-07-2022The “Manzonian Itinerary”, the Larian treasure.
"I Promessi Sposi" will give rise to a literary tour called "Manzoni's Itinerary": a series of stages of historical and cultural interest in the Lario area, in the Lecco area, where charm and mystery remain suspended between romanticism and contemporaneity. Starting from Pescarenico, in the southern part of the city of Lecco, where in the novel there was the Capuchin convent of Fra 'Cristoforo and the place from which Lucia left by boat to escape from the aims of Don Rodrigo, up to Acquate, the native town of Renzo and Lucia and which still today hosts what is identified as the traditional Mondella house. A jump on the Zucco promontory, near the districts of Acquate where Don Rodrigo's mansion is located, identical until 1938 to the description provided by Manzoni in The Betrothed.
Villa Manzoni, in the Caleotto district of Lecco, on the other hand, was for years the family residence of the writer who spent his entire childhood, adolescence and early youth there. The building now houses the Manzoni Museum which exhibits manuscripts, first editions and relics relating to the life and works of Alessandro Manzoni.
A full immersion in Italian literature, a stone's throw from Domaso!
