Since the times of the ancient Romans, the area of Lake Como has been a land of viticulture and wine production.

Around 1800, the Ampelographic Commission drew up a real list of the numerous types of vines present in the Lake Como area, the fruits of which were also used for a grape-based therapy which the famous Lev Tolstoy also spoke about.

In 1800, for the Alto Lario area, a slow decline in wine production began: the coparsa of parasites, the affirmation of the mulberry culture, industrialization and urbanization decimated the production, however raising the quality level of the wines products,.

The thermal excursions mitigated by the lake, and the soils that are certainly not easy to cultivate with vineyards, now allow the bottling of indigenous niche wines, recognized since 2008 with the Typical Geographical Indication (the IGT brand) "Terre Lariane".

To date, Domaso wines have received international awards and recognitions, as a guarantee of their excellent quality.
